At one time in my life I ate a lot of oranges, coconut, and chocolate. I was in Costa Rica on an extended vacation.
Breakfast was simple: rice and beans with fresh fruit if we had it.
However… if you can pick a fresh chocolate pod, and do all the work that it takes to make a chocolate then you begin to understand the food.
In this tropical environment I learned how wonderful the ingredients of this diet was for me: beans and rice was better for my cholesterol, and the fresh fruit was packed with vitamins I needed.
I felt very relaxed and at the same time energetic during this time.
It felt like a miracle.
I gave up my guilt when I had time to reset.
It took a while, but I climbed out of it slowly.
I think I am lucky because I surround myself with nurturing caring people.
There is a universal practice that helps us manage better as we improve our understanding of the life we live in.
To be kind, one must feel kind inside.
No matter who you are, or where you live, or what you do for a living, that is not the real you. The real you is deep inside of you, and it helps if you can get quiet inside to be able to listen to the small voice that says: take a breath now.
